Minister of Livestock and Fisheries Makozo Chikote has urged civil servants to put public resources to good use as the UPND Government has moved away from handouts.
Mr Chikote advised the Provincial Administration staff to coordinate with Government programmes and not to hide any information about Government developmental programmes.
He was speaking when he paid a Courtesy call on North Western Provincial Minister Robert Lihefu at his office in Solwezi yesterday.
The Minister who has been in the province for a two day’s familiarization tour has assured livestock and fish farmers in the province that the new dawn government will address challenges facing the fisheries and livestock sector.
He said Government is giving maximum support to the fisheries and livestock sector for it to contribute to the country’s Gross Domestic Product-GDP.
Mr Chikote said that his Ministry will complete the infrastructure projects that have stalled in all parts of the country.
The Minister was accompanied by Provincial Minister Robert Lihefu and paid a Courtesy call on Royal Highness Chief Mumena of the Kaonde speaking people in Kalumbila District and later toured Mumena Abattoir project, an initiative by the mumena community from the support of Lumwana Community Trust funded by Barrick Lumwana Mine and Musika.
The two Ministers also paid a courtesy call on Senior Chief Kalilele of Lamba Speaking people in Mushindamo District and later toured Mushindamo Aquapack project.
