By IREEN MULENGA
Solwezi District Business Association (SODBA) has described 2021 as the most challenging year for those involved in various businesses.

SODBA Chairperson Smith Kalota said it was difficult for the men and women in the markets to conduct their business in 2021.

Mr Kalota said the challenges faced can be attributed to the number of factors ranging from political landscape, economy and the hardship caused by the outbreak of Covid 19.

“Looking at 2021 income, I can say that our business suffered a lot due to political arena, inferences like caderism   this also includes Covid-19 which has affected most economies in Africa including Zambia,” he said.

He said that political cadres made the business environment hostile making it extremely impossible for an ordinary citizen to carry out their normal duties.

The business association chairperson said his association has pledged to work with the new dawn government in order to foster development and improve the welfare of business community in Solwezi district and northwestern province as a whole.
