President Edgar Lungu has sworn in former Zambia Police Spokesperson Bonny Kapeso as Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations.
Mr Kapeso who joined the police service in 1984, has served in eight of the country’s ten provinces.
He also has a record of being the longest serving Zambia Police spokesperson, where he served for five years.
Mr Kapeso until his new appointment, was Southern Province Commissioner of Police.
And President Lungu has commended Mr Kapeso for his dedication to duty and his diligent work adding that, he has no doubt that he will contribute to the enhancement of the police service.
The President said this at State House today during a swearing in ceremony of Bonny Kapeso, who until his appointment served as Southern Province Commissioner of Police.
Others sworn in today are Major General Kapotwe Chintu as Deputy Air Commander and Diamond Likashi and Commissioner of Police for Southern Province.
President Lungu has urged the newly sworn in officers to continue exercising professionalism, loyalty and commitment to duty/ZANIS.
