A-44-year-old man of Lusaka has committed suicide after beating his wife to death.
Steven Yamba murdered his wife on December 24 after a marital dispute.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga confirmed the development and identified the victim as Kangwa Mwango , 33, of Lusaka.
He said that Yamba killed his wife after a marital dispute that led to a fight.
Mr Hamoonga also said that the incident was reported by Cecilia Mwango 48 of six miles Kabangwe area who is believed to have Kangwa’s sister
“On December 25, 2021, at 09:00 hours Yamba took his wife to Chawama hospital where he was advised to take her direct to University Teaching Hospital and she died on the to the hospital.
“After Yamba realized that he had caused the wife’s death he quickly sneaked to Kabwata market where he bought a bottle of Doom pesticide and committed suicide by drinking the same,”he said.
Mr Hamoonga said the two bodies are in UTH mortuary awaiting Autopsy and burial.
