Chingola Mayor donates gift for Christmas babies

Mayor Johnson Kang’ombe has given out hampers to eight Christmas babies delivered at different health center in the district.

And Mr Kang’ombe has also called on men to support their partners during and after pregnancy.

He said this after delivering hampers to Christmas babies at various Health Centers in the district, where he was disheartened by an incidence of one would be mother who had no necessities for delivery at Kabundi Clinic -maternity ward.

Mr Kang’ombe said that it was a sad situation to find a woman who is ready to deliver but has no necessities to receive her newborn baby.

“Men should be responsible enough when they know that their spouses are expecting and bringing life into this world,” he said.

The Mayor urged the people that during this Covid period families and friends should avoid unnecessary visitations to the homes of new born babies to protect everyone from spreading or contracting the virus.

Meanwhile Febby Kaumba one of the recipients of the donations thanked the government for the gifts which were presented to them unexpectedly.
