The Ministry of Science and Technology has handed over a K 3 million Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) laboratory in Kasempa district of the North-Western Province.

Speaking during the handover ceremony yesterday, Minister of Science and Technology, Felix Mutati assured the nation that the United Party for National Development (UPND) administration will enhance STEM subjects in rural areas.

“With this investment that we have made here today we are going to enhance the delivery of natural sciences at this school,” he said.

He commended the UPND administration for the timely delivery of the STEM laboratory at Kasempa day secondary.

“What was taking a long time to deliver in the previous government has been delivered in less than six months by President Hakainde Hichilema,” he said.

Meanwhile, Minister of Labor and Social Security, Brenda Tambatamba said she is delighted and honored that her constituency was considered to house the STEM laboratory.

“This development has come at an opportune time, a time when the new dawn administration under the stewardship of President Hakainde Hichilema has prioritized the provision of quality education,” she said.

She said that the upgrading of Kasempa day secondary school to a STEM center of excellence is a very progressive move by the New Dawn Government.
