Nine people have died on the spot among them a Juvenile along Isoka-Muyombe road when the Motor vehicle they were in lost control and over turned.
A Mistubishi Fighter registration Number AIB 7875 driven by Peter Simukoko 35 overturned when the vehicle’s braking system failed while descending Chilumbi Hills.
The vehicle rolled downhill and overturned on the left side of the road.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the accident happened on December 12, 2021 around 22:00 hours along Isoka-Muyombe road at Sese Village in Mafinga District about 80 Kilometers East of Isoka town.
Mr Hamoonga said the driver and 17 other passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Isoka District Hospital where they are receiving treatment.
He said the bodies of the victims are lying in Isoka District Mortuary Hospital awaiting postmortem.
