Kasompe ward Councillor Martin Lombe says that he has completed opening up of drainages and unblocking old ones in the ward for the smooth passage of water during rainy season.
Mr Lombe said that this has been done in collaboration with Chingola Municipal Council.
He said that blocked drainages are a bleeding ground for mosquitoes in the rain season hence the opening up and unblocking of old drainages.
Mr Lombe said this is also to prevent malaria and yard flooding with water among residents in his ward.
He urged the people to refrain from throwing garbage in the drainages as this will block them again.
