Wedson urges Power to win the League

By Mercy Chewe
Power Dynamos legend Wedson Nyirenda has urged his old club to win the FAZ Super Division League title as a way of celebrating its 50th Anniversary.

Power Dynamos is this year celebrating its Golden Jubilee of existence.

Nyirenda played for Power in the early 1990’s after joining them from Nchanga Rangers in August, 1991.

He won the Africa Cup Winners Cup commonly known as Mandela Cup with Power in that year.

In a sanctioned article for Power’s 50th Anniversary written by sports journalist Kennedy Gondwe, Nyirenda said he will continue supporting the Arthur Davies club.

‘I’ve enjoyed my life as Aba Yellow. I’ll continue supporting the club and God willing, one day I’ll go back there and contribute in a different way, probably in coaching or any other way,” Nyirenda was quoted.

“I would request the players, especially this year on the 50th anniversary, to win the league for their fans on such a special occasion,” he said.

Power are currently tenth in the league with 16 points after playing 13 matches.
