Two teenagers aged 16 and 19 of Kanchibiya District in Muchinga Province are in police custody for allegedly raping a 33-year-old woman of Chambeshi village.
Muchinga Province Deputy Commanding Officer Lucy Buumba confirmed the incident.
Ms Buumba said that the incident happened on November 18, 2021 around 23:00hrs in the same village and the matter was reported at Mpika police station.
According to the report, Memory Kaseya, went on a drinking spree within the village and on her way back home, the two suspects took advantage of her drunken state to commit the crime.
“When the police received the report, they rushed to the area and managed to apprehend the two young men,” she said.
Ms Buumba who confirmed the incident, said that the two will appear in court soon.
