Deputy Inspector General of Police Administration Doris Nayame says there is need to enact laws that fasten prosecution of cybercrimes.
Ms Nayame said the Cyber space is becoming more unsafe for women and girls, that why there is need for cyberlaws to be enacted as soon as possible.
She said that Government recognizes the risk and is working round the clock to mitigate this challenge through the Zambia Police Service and other law enforcement agencies.
Ms Nayame said that recent annual reports by the Victim Support Unit revealed that cyber bullying victims are dominated by women and girls.
Ms Nayame was speaking during a training workshop on cybercrime related to sexual abuse of women and girls in Southern Africa.

Ms Nayame also said the participation of SADC in the workshop is evidence of the importance it attaches to the security of women and girls in the region.
And, Transnational Organized Crime Officer Barbara Mchenga said at regional level, SADC is making strides to enhance crime prevention by capacitating member states.
United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime UNODC Coordinator Linda Naidoo said online media platforms offer huge opportunities for social economic development.
Ms Naidoo said that it is however sad that cybercrime is making the platforms risky to use.
And Interpol Regional Specialized Officer Phiwa Nhlengetfwa said victims are mostly not aware that they are being victimized.
Mr Nhlengetfwa said there is need to apply more proactive measures as law enforcers tasked to prevent cybercrimes.
