The Opposition Green Party Leader Peter Sinkamba says the new dawn Government should speed up the process of finalizing the legalization of growing cannabis for medicinal and industrial purposes.
Mr Sinkamba who is also founder of the Zambian Hemp Growers and Industries Association-(ZAMHEMP) said that his organization plans to meet with President Hakainde Hichilema to put him up to speed with the processes.
He said legalization will provide the country with an income stream.
“As Green party we are worried about the delays in finalizing the last step in the legalization of the growing of Cannabis, so because of these delays it means we are not going to utilize this rainy season in the planting of Cannabis,” he said.
He has since appealed to new dawn Government to come in quickly and help in resolving the matter.
