10 nabbed in the death of Liangati Councillor

The Zambia Police has apprehended and detained 10 suspects in connection with the murder of UPND Liangati ward Councilor Mwangala Sililo 66.

The suspects include the son, sisters and other family members of the late Councillor.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said this follows investigations launched in the murder case of Sililo which occurred on November 4, 2021 around 19:00 hours in Senanga District.

Mr Hamoonga has identified the suspects as Nalishebo Mwangala 67, and Maggie Sibeso Mwangala 53 both sisters to the late victim, Martin Mwangala 48 a son and Sitali Mutafela 51 a son in-law to the Victim all are of Liangati area in Senanga District.

Others are Mubiana Chingumbe 21, Mwangala Mulamdelela 40, and his wife Njekwa Mulundano 39, Sarah Kambinda 39, a Juvenile aged 17 all are of Nameshe Village in Senanga and Friday Simumbwe Kwainisa 42 of Kaoma.

He said the suspects have been charged and arrested for the offence of Murder and will appear in court soon.
