The Democratic Party (DP) Copperbelt Premier official Samson Phiri has resigned from the party with immediate effect.
Mr Phiri said he doesn’t want to be associated with intraparty fighting currently going on.
“I write to resign from the DP party and the postion of acting Premier. I am writing to your to inform you that I have resigned from the DP Party with immediate effect. This is purely my decision as I wish to concentrate on other things.I further wish to state that I do not want to be associated with the current happenings.
“Thank you for having appointed me as acting Copperbelt Provincial Premier. I further wish DP well in its future endeavours,” said Mr Phiri.
