The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) says Patson Daka’s record-breaking performance in Wednesday night’s Leicester City’s Group C UEFA Europa League game will inspire many Zambian players.
Daka scored all the goals in Leicester City’s 4-3 win over Spartak Moscow.
This is in the backdrop of the Zambian striker, opening his scoring account in the English Premiership over the weekend, where he scored one of Leicester City’s 4-2 win over Manchester United.
FAZ President, Andrew Kamanga said the association believes Daka’s exploits will continue to inspire many other players to break new grounds.
Kamanga has noted that it is not only important to have many players playing in some top European leagues, but also playing regularly and performing.
Kamanga said that FAZ is excited that many other players are getting to play regularly in various leagues and performing, which is important to have a strong national team.
Leicester City are in Group C of the UEFA Europa League, alongside Legia, Spartak Moscow and Napoli.
This is according to a statement issued by FAZ Communication Manager Sydney Mungala.
