Advocate for National Development and Democracy (ANDD) Executive Director Samuel Banda has honored former president, Edgar Chagwa Lungu for being bold and magnanimous enough to declare a day of national prayers and reconciliation.
Mr Banda said that this decision demonstrated that former president Lungu truly believed in Zambia as a Christian nation.
“This is a very important day for our country. A day when we put aside all our differences and focus on our country’s needs and aspirations, Let us pray for our leaders so God may give them guidance and wisdom in the dispensing of their duties,” he said.
Mr Banda has called on every Zambian to support the leadership of the day, and work together despite different ideologies, for the greater good of the nation.
He said leadership comes from God and as Christians we are required to respect and pray for our leaders.
Mr Banda said that ultimately they urge the government to profoundly uphold Christian values as they govern the country.
