By IREEN MULENGA
Copperbelt Chairperson for Independent Churches in Zambia Bishop Ellison Bwalya has urged Christians not shun away from the national Day of Prayers and fasting but to turn out in numbers to go and pray.

Bishop Bwalya said that this day is not given to a certain  political party but it is meant for the people and  Christians for this great nation to stand in the gap and  pray for Leaders and various situation that the country go through.

He said the National Day of prayer and fasting should be maintained because it gives pride and glory to the nation.

“The Bible says blessed is the nation whose God is their Lord, and indeed Zambia being  a Christian nation,  we have something that we are proud of and we should embrace it as a nation,” he said.

Bishop Bwalya said that people should not politicize this day but to rush as a team and seek place of God as this will show a national identify.

He has called on Christians at large to avoid name calling and show love to everyone who is in forefront and ensure that everyone comes on board.
