Outgoing Zamtel Board Chairperson Danny Luswili says it is humbling to have served the Zambian people as a member of the Zamtel Board of Directors for slightly over four years.
In his farewell message, Mr Luswili thanked President Hakainde Hichilema, members of the outgoing Board, IDC and the Zambian people for the opportunity to contribute to the growth of Zamtel.
He said he is proud to be leaving Zamtel in a stronger and competitive position with the company having recorded impressive milestones during the tenure of the outgoing Board.
Mr Luswili explained that Zamtel has managed to grow its subscriber base to over 3.5 million and now enjoys close to 20 percent of market share in a highly competitive business environment.
“As our tour of duty comes to an end, I wish on behalf of other Board members to wholeheartedly thank the management and staff at Zamtel for their professionalism and hard work which enabled us as a Board to contribute effectively to creating a Zamtel of today which most Zambians could be proud of,” Mr Luswili said.
Mr Luswili has since appealed to Zambians to continue supporting Zamtel’s business ambitions of becoming a dominant digital solutions provider that powers the 4th Industrial Revolution in Zambia and beyond.
“We have set in motion all key parameters that will see Zamtel thrive. The New Dawn Administration is keen on digital transformation and Zamtel occupies a unique position to take a lead in digital revolution,” Mr Luswili added.
Mr Luswili, a renowned Finance professional and Fellow of the Institute of Directors Zambia (FoDZ) and ZICA is also a Council Member of the London based board of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) where he represents West, East, Central and Southern Africa.
