Zambia Army Commander, Sitali Alubuzwi has assured his officers that plans to construct housing units in military barracks on the Copperbelt and North Western Provinces have advanced and projects will start soon.
General Alibuzwi said government is also determined to improve the welfare and living conditions of officers and soldiers across the country.
“The government is determined to lessen the accommodation challenges which some military cantonments and formations are facing, initially the army headquarters planned to construct housing units in Mushili Commando units in Ndola, Solwezi, Chalala and Choma barracks,” he said.
General Alibuzwi was speaking shortly after a tour of Kalewa and Tug Argan barracks in Ndola.
The Zambia Army Commander is on the Copperbelt on a familiarisation tour of army units and formations following his recent appointment as Zambia Army Commander.
