Economist Oliver Saasa says he is happy with the re-appointment of Dr Denny Kalyalya as Bank of Zambia Governor because of his vast experience in the economic sector having worked as Executive Director at the World Bank from 2012 to 2014.
Professor Saasa notes that Dr Kalyalya will work well because he is familiar with the operations of the Bank of Zambia having served in that position from February 2015.
“The appointment of Dr Kalyalya is a good move, I would like to thank his Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema for this appointment, Dr Kalyalya is a re- known Banker at Central Bank and he is respected here in Zambia by most professionals and he is also recognized globally,” he said.
And Business and Economist analyst Kelvin Chisanga has described the re-appointment of Dr Denny Kalyalya as a key equalizer that will help in stabilizing economic prospects which are being championed by the new government.
Speaking in an interview with The Independent Observer, Chisanga said Dr Kalyalya’s appointment is timely as it comes at a time when Zambia is faced with many challenges on the economic front.
Mr Chisanga said it is impossible to accurately predict on the true nature of the national economic out turn.
He said the Central Bank sits to be importance in the Economic structure which requires a competent, experience and trustworthy personality as the country aspire to achieve Micro economic stability
