Police given 24 hours ultimatum in the gassing incident

Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo has given the police 24 hour ultimatum to look into the issue of the alleged gassing at Buyantanshi Technical School (BUTECH) in Chingola.

Mr Matambo said that the Police should establish what happened and bring the culprits to book.

He said that the police should give a clear picture and not leave people in suspense of what may have occurred.

Mr Matambo has also assured the people of Chingola that their safety is guaranteed and that they should not live in fear.

He said that the people who are behind the gassing will be brought to book and justice shall prevail as the police are investigating the matter.

Mr Matambo was speaking when he paid courtesy call at the Acting District Commissioner’s office were he said that the people behind the act of gassing should know that they days are numbered.

He said that the gassing issue was not new hence the police should be closing up with the culprits so people can have peace.

Mr Matambo said that such incidents will not be condoned in the new dawn government they will ensure that the problem will be dealt with.

The Minister also visited the four victims who are still admitted at Nchanga North General Hospital.

He later addressed the teachers at Butech and assured them that Government through the police will ensure that culprits are brought to book and they should work without fear.
