Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Chipoka Mulenga says the economy will not recover if revenue continues to be externalized.
Mr Mulenga said he was impressed by the performance of the Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA) which continues to exceed its targets.
He said that there are many firms and individuals who operate professionally and are capable of providing quality works and that these need to be empowered.
Mr Mulenga said that the firms’ given works should be monitored and that it is important that agencies demand for quality.
Mr. Mulenga said this during the familiarization tour of ZCSA offices.
And ZCSA Executive Director Peggy Kaunda said the Agency has engaged stakeholders to ensure it makes its services friendly to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the country.
Ms Kaunda said that to this effected the Agency has developed a fee structure for SMEs to allow them access the services provided by ZCSA.
