Super Division side Buildcon have started their league campaign on a successful note after winning three games in a role.

The Ndola side beat Forest Rangers 2-0 in a local derby at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium to ascend to the summit of the log with nine points.

In their opening game, Buildcon beat Green Eagles 2-1 in Choma and last week they managed to get maximum points after beating Prison Leopards 1-0 in Kitwe.

Forest failed to build up on their 4-1 win over newly promoted Kafue Celtics last week.

After playing to a goalless draw in the first half, Buildcon managed to find the target through Patrick Ngoma in the 69th minute.

Monday Bwalya doubled the advantage in the 76th minute, Forest striker Quadri Kola scored a consolation in the 90th minute.

Coach Tenant Chembo said derby’s are difficult games but his charges had a lot of chances they failed to utilize.

“We had great chances but we couldn’t take our chances. These are professionals, they know how to handle pressure, they know how to handle such types of games.

“They did well, just lack of concentration but they fought to the end but you know that’s the bad part of losing. We had glorious chances. In a derby if you create and utilize chances, you win the game,” he said.

The two sides were meeting for the 11th time since 2017.
