The Golden Party of Zambia (GPZ) president Jackson Silavwe says the UPND must be very careful not to worst their time in power.
Mr Silavwe also urged the UPND government to begin moving the state machinery so that they can start working and delivering on the promises they made to the Zambian people.
He said that president Hichilema must focus on the agenda of the Zambian people rather than focusing on matters that are coming from people trying to remain relevant to him.
“The resources for the Zambians people belong to Zambians, so if anyone abused their power be the former president, it is a must for government to get the resources back,” he said.
And Mr Silavwe said that the things that a contained in the UPND manifesto cannot be achieved in five years.
He said that is why there is need for government to begin working from the onset, because there is no time to waste.
“I have heard President Hichilema speak on many foras and he does not sound like a republican president but still sounds like he is in opposition, am yet to see the presidency begin to move, the missing link in the UPND is that they are lacking policy strategy, for instance, in his maiden speech to parliament, President Hichilema spoke on the economy but has not even instituted an economic team that will deal with the economy recovery yet,” he said.
Mr Silavwe said that Mr Hichilema is an established economist, and has appointed the minister of finance, who is an economist, but this two are not enough.
He said president Hichilema should rather appoint a high level economic team that can advise him on how government can improve the economy.
