Solwezi Mayor Remmy Kalepa has challenged various institutions to also implement capital projects which he says are cardinal for development in Solwezi.
The Mayor said this when he inspected the progress made so far on construction of the National Pensions Scheme Authority (NAPSA) Housing Units in Kazhiba area today in the company of Solwezi Municipal Council Management led by the Town Clerk Eng Bornwell L. Luanga.
Mr Kalepa is delighted with the capital investment by NAPSA to build quality standard housing units which will not only beautify the district but also provide good housing facilities to many residents in Solwezi.
He noted that the standard housing unit project will also encourage other land owners in the area to develop their properties.
Mr Kalepa said that the Council will embrace other institutions which have intentions of undertaking more developmental projects as the Council endeavours to improve the living standards of many in the district.
The Mayor and the entourage seized the opportunity to inspect some roads in Magrade area to appreciate the state of the roads.
In 2015, Solwezi Municipal Council entered into a debt swap for 50 hectares of land in Kazhiba area with NAPSA which had the intention of developing the land into a mixed use development to include low and medium cost residential housing units and a commercial office block.
