The United Mineworkers Union of Zambia (UMUZ) President Wisdom Ngwira is elated by governments’ support to increase in the local participation in the mining sector mining .
Mr Ngwira said that the willingness shown by government to support the mining sector will result into job creation for people more especially the youths.
He said the augment in Copper production and other minerals such as Gold, Cobalt, and manganese will increase the earnings and the result maximizes the benefits to the people.
“As United Mineworkers of Zambia, we would like to thank President Hakainde Hichilema for his well-articulated speech for the mining sector, the mining sector plays an important role in the economy and we happy for the Government’s efforts,” he said.
Commenting on President Hichilema’s speech, Mr Ngwira has called on the Head of State the mining sector to explore so that an increase production in the sector which will result into revenue increase achieved.
