ZESCO United all-time top goalscorer, Jesse Jackson Were believes his team is ready for Saturday’s CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg encounter against Royal Leopards FC.

The Kenyan talisman told the ZamFoot Crew that they have prepared very well for their opponents.
The Zambian super league champions will begin their 2021/2022 CAF Champions League campaign in good spirit after emerging victorious in the Zambian football season curtain-raiser, The Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield two weeks ago after beating Lusaka Dynamos 4-0 to start the season on a high note.

“I can say thank God for the traveling mercies and coming to the game we know how our fitness is we have been preparing since the beginning of the season and we have played few test matches here and there. We know our fitness levels are almost up there but coming to the game I know we will give a good test to the opponents and they will feel us because we have come here to win and we are ready for the game coming on Saturday,” he said.

Jesse Were believes only 90 minutes on the pitch will determine the outcome but he is hopeful of coming back home with a victory.

“It’s tricky but it’s football it’s all played on the pitch and it’s 90 minutes which can determine so us we are ready even if they are little-known us we are ready for the game and we have prepared for everything which is ahead of us.”

The match will be played on Saturday 11 September 2021 at Mabuso sports ground with kick-off set for 15:00hrs.
