The Bus and Taxi Owners Association has hailed President Hakainde Hichilema’s directive to allow bus stations to operate freely without any interference from cadres.
Association Spokesperson Amis Daudy says the association is optimistic that the new government will protect Zambian businesses.
Mr Daudy said that a great nation does not build from macro activities, the economic stability of the country depends on the micro economic players such as bus drivers, taxi driver and Marketers.
“Let me say this, if one operator is enabled to operate freely and grow his or her own business, the economy will grow and that’s how we create employment in the country,” he said.
He said the primary players in building the nation are the bus operators including the maketeers in all markets Country wide.
Mr Gaudy said that his hope is in the new Government to protect the businesses and the Zambian people.
