The ruling UPND Alliance says that the international community through its dignitaries accredited to Zambia have confidence in Zambia’s 7th Republican President Hakainde Hichilema at the helm of the country’s governance system.
UPND Alliance partner, Movement for Democratic Change MDC Chairperson for International Relations Ambassador Joyce Musenge said the confidence in his leadership and good will was already exhibited to the world through the several meetings held by President Hichilema even before he was sworn into office.
Mr Musenge said such high level meetings coupled with the high turnout of foreign Heads of States and dignitaries who attended the President’s inauguration ceremony presented as a platform for President Hichilema to renegotiate the country’s high indebtedness and strengthen bilateral ties.
He said the UPND Alliance remains gratified to the cooperating partners for their support to the Zambian people over the years and their pronouncements to strengthen this.
Mr Musenge who is also MDC Deputy Secretary General for Administration said the UPND Alliance is confident that with its coming into government, new opportunities for consolidating the country’s bilateral and multilateral relations.
President Hichilema in his inaugural speech said his administration’s focus over the next five years will also focus on restoring macroeconomic stability and promoting growth of the economy.
