President elect Hakainde Hichilema’s Spokesperson Anthony Bwalya says bilateral and multilateral engagements by the president elect are largely on the basis of finding a lasting solution to Zambia’s debt crisis.
Mr Bwalya said that Mr Hichilema has been having such engagements so that the issue of debt can be quickly resolved.
He said this is in order for resources to be channeled to productive sectors of the economy.
“The bilateral and mulitlateral engagements will continue even after his inauguration as Zambia’s 7th President next Tuesday, I also want to clarify that the inauguration of the President elect is a State Function and therefore it is managed as a matter of Cabinet office, ” he said.
Mr Bwalya said this means that anyone seeking clarification of who will attend the inauguration, should engage Cabinet office.
He was speaking at a transition media briefing in Lusaka.
