The Patriotic Front (PF) have retained the Ndola Mayoral seat after overcoming competition from six other contestants among them United Party for National Development (UPND).
Jones Kalyati of PF got 71, 762 votes to beat his closest rival Mwaba Mwamba of UPND,who managed 68,385 votes.
Ndola District Returning Officer Cosmas Chalusa declared Kalyati as a dully elected winner of the position which attracted seven candidates.
Kalyati replaces Amon Chisenga, who did not seek re-election.
Ellington Chipoka an independent candidate was third with 5,495 votes while Wilson Kango who is also independent polled 3,210
United National Independence Party (UNIP) candidate Benson Mumba amassed 5,494 votes while People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) candidate Bwalya Kapembwa polled 1,486 votes.
Others are Chishimba Shipanuka of the Socialist Party and RAP candidate Charles Ngesa who scored 961 and 555 votes respectively.
