Malanji re-elected for Kwacha

United Party for National Development UPND candidate Hakainde Hichilima has scored 24,391 presidential votes  under Kwacha constituency while his close contender Edgar Chagwa Lungu scored 18 980 votes.

And former Foreign Affairs Minister Joseph Malanji has been re-elected as Kwacha Member of Parliament scoring 25, 979 votes beating Charles Mulenga of the UPND who scored 17, 065 in the Thursday’s general elections.
960 votes were rejected out of 44, 973 registered votes.
Four candidates were vrying for the Kwacha seat with NDC’s Chabala Newton scoring 238 and  the Socialist party Grace Namunyola scored 797 votes.
And the Patriotic Front PF party has scooped Four local government seats in Kwacha constituency while the UPND managed to scoop two seats Lubwa  and Riverside ward and the other seat  was grabbed by an independent candidate Chansa Fred who scored 2710 votes for Kwacha ward.
The PF candidate Muposhi Katai scooped Musonda ward scoring 2254 votes, Chantete ward candidate David Phiri scored 1363 votes respectively.
Chiyaka Matthews of the PF scored 4889 for Bulangililo ward while Swaba Evans of the PF scored 3688 for ipusukilo ward
