Police in Mongu of Western province have arrested a 53-year-old man in possession with a firearm without a license.
Police Spokes Person Esther Katongo said Lamaswala Mubiana of Chisonga area in Mongu District has been detained for being in possession of a firearm without a license.
Ms Katongo said he was arrested following information received from concerned members of the public.
She said police conducted a search at the suspect’s house where they recovered a shotgun.
Ms Katongo said the suspect has been detained for the offence of being in possession of a firearm without a license contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
He will appear in court soon.
