The Zambia National Service (ZNS) command pledged to continue putting measures in place and intensify operations in the country’s borderlines to control smuggling of various agricultural products.
ZNS Commandant Lieutenant General Nathan Mulenga said the move is aimed at ensuring that Zambia remains food secure.
General Mulenga warned officers to avoid engaging in corruption when deployed to various units.
“You risk losing your jobs if found wanting, I want to appeal to the public to report to relevant offices when such cases occur as opposed to taking it to social media,” he said.
He was speaking during the pass out parade of 1 thousand and 51 service officers in Kabwe.
General Mulenga said the recruitment has come at a time when the service has been dealing with low numbers of workers saying this will enhance efficiency in the operations
And Kabwe training school Commander Colonel Clement Chanda said the 1-thousand and 51 officers are ready to take up national tasks wherever they are deployed.
Col Chanda said the school has been able to equip the officers with skills that will enable them achieve tasks assigned to them.
