Champions Zesco United have boosted their midfielder with the acquisition of Napsa Stars captain Dickson Chapa.
The defensive midfielder becomes the second signing for the Ndola outfit after midfielder Edward Lungu who has also trekked to Zesco from relegated Kitwe United.
According to the Zesco website,Chapa has penned a one-year loan deal with the Mumamba Numba coached side.
Zesco technical chairman Peter Mutale said will add value to the team due to his vast experience in both domestic and continental football.
“ZESCO United is pleased to secure the signature of Dickson Chapa. We have brought a good defensive midfielder with both domestic and continental experience.
Chapa played a profound role in Napsa Stars qualification for CAF interclub football and led his team to the Group stage of the competition for the very first time in their history,” Mutale said.
Chapa will be competing for a starting place in the defensive midfield role alongside Donashano Malama, Samuel Sikaonga and Thabani Kamusoko.
The former Konkola Blades midfielder is delighted with his move to Zesco and is targeting winning titles during his stay in Ndola.
“This is a very organized club with a rich history. I feel that they have seen something in me which they want to use to add value to the team. I also want to ensure that I contribute to the clubs growth by winning titles,” Chapa said.
Chapa was among the standout performers for relegated Napsa and played a pivotal role in helping the club reach the Group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
