Lusaka referee Audrick Nkole is pleased to have officiated at the just ended 2021 COSAFA Cup in South Africa.
Nkole was the centre referee for the final between South Africa and Senegal which the hosts won on post-match penalties last Sunday.
The FIFA accredited referee described his experience at the regional championship hosted in Nelson Mandela Bay as good.
“It was a great experience handling the final. It was a good experience,” Nkole said.
He represented Zambia at the COSAFA Cup alongside assistant referee Diana Chikotesha.
Nkole has been a referee for over fifteen years.
He is the son of veteran retired Chingola referee Aaron Nkole.
Nkole said his father, who is now a match commissioner, has played a crucial role in his refereeing career.
“Dad has been there for me. He is the one who inspired me,” Nkole said.
“I looked up to him. He has really played a key role in my career. I would call him when I have a tough match,” he said.
Nkole has in the past handled CAF Champions League and Unde-23 Africa Cup games.
