Zambia booted out of COSAFA

Defending champions Zambia were on Wednesday eliminated from the COSAFA championship after battling to a barren draw against South Africa at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
The five time champions were hoping to advance to the semi-finals from Group A with a win against Bafana Bafana in an event eSwatini lost to Botswana.
However failure to beat the host and eSwatini drawing 1-all with Botswana ended their slim hopes.
Zambia who are coached by Serbian Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic finished with four points, three behind eSwatini who joined group winners South Africa into the semi-finals.
South had 10 points.
Zambia lost their opening two matches to Lesotho and eSwatini,2-1 and 1-0 in that order to cast doubts about their chances of advancing to the last four
The Chipolopolo Boys only win at the tournament came on Tuesday against Botswana, whom they overcame 2-1.
Senegal and Mozambique also progressed to the semi-finals from Group B.
