World leaders continue mourning KK

Leaders from across the World have continued sending messages of Condolences to President Edgar Lungu on the passing on of First President Kenneth Kaunda.

Chinese President Xi Jinping described Dr Kaunda as the founder of the Chinese Zambia Relations.

And the Queen of England said during his time as President, Dr. Kaunda worked tirelessly for the people of Zambia.

Queen Elizabeth said Dr Kaunda’s opposition to the apartheid government in South Africa had earned him a place in history.

Others who have sent messages of Condolences are his majesty King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al- Saud of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates President Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

President of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega Saavendra said his country will remember the solidarity of Dr. Kaunda and the Zambian people towards the struggling people of his country.

Mr Saavedra described Dr Kaunda as an independence hero and revolutionary.

And Czech Republic President Milos Zeman said Dr Kaunda fought racial segregation and colonialism.

He said Dr Kaunda opposed the occupation of his country by armies of the Soviet bloc in 1986.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz- Canel described Dr Kaunda as a historical friend of Cuba.

And former President of Mozambique Joaquim Chissano said Dr. Kaunda will be remembered as a torch of independence and democratic change in Zambia and other countries.
