Veteran international striker Collins Mbesuma has challenged Chipolopolo players to sacrifice more when playing for the National Team.
Mbesuma said he expects National Team players to put in more efforts ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying starting in September.
The University of Pretoria striker said wearing the national team jersey is motivation enough to die a little for the nation.
‘We have talent in Zambia no doubt,’ Mbesuma said on the sidelines of his visit to the Copperbelt.
‘I am asking players to die a little for mother Zambia. When you wear that jersey make sure you work hard,’ Mbesuma said.
The former Roan United striker added:”It feels bad to lose but I know no player wants to lose.”
Mbesuma is positive about Chipolopolo’s chances as the team prepares for the World Cup qualifiers.
“I have never lost hope in the National Team. It is possible to qualify for the World Cup after failing to go to the Africa Cup,” he said.
Mbesuma is currently in the country to check on his foundation and football academy in his home town Luanshya.
