ZAF will not allow anyone to destabilize peace

By MAIMBO MWEEMBA
Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Commander Lieutenant General David Muma has warned that the defence force will not allow anyone to destabilize the peace and security of the nation before, during and after the August polls.

“Adequate measures have been put in place to ensure Zambians enjoy peace and security, the pockets of violence recorded in some districts across the country will not be tolerated as the defence forces are on high alert to deal with any troublemakers, and I want emphasize that there is no vacuum in the governance of the country as the Republican President is firmly in charge of national affairs,” he said.

Lt Muma was speaking in Choma when he paid a courtesy call on Southern province Permanent Secretary Joyce Bwacha.

Lt Muma is in the province interacting with ZAF personnel and monitoring projects undertaken by the defence wing.

And Ms Bwacha said that the province is still enjoying relative peace even with the ongoing political campaigns.

“I want to express gratitude to the security and defence forces for maintaining peace and security in the Province,” she said.
