Solwezi Municipal Council Director Engineering Services Angel Simwaba says the Local Authority will continue opening up roads in Kyapatala area to encourage land owners in the area to start developing their parcels of land.
Engineer Simwaba said that Council in 2019 issued plots in Kyapatala and started opening the roads in the area in 2020 to ensure development works commenced as soon as plots were issued to discourage land encroachments.
“The scope of works include bush clearing, road formation and compaction, and am delighted that some property owners have started developing their land and encouraged more land owners to move in and develop because the roads have been opened for easy accessibility,” he said.
Mr Simwaba said that in the recent past, it was impossible for the Local Authority to open the roads due to the rain season as such works can only be easily done in dry seasons.
