Rainbow Party has refuted claims by some sections of the media that party President Wynter Kabimba has joined the Patriotic Front (PF).
Rainbow party spokesperson Humphrey Kabwe told the independent observer that the claims that Mr Kabimba has joined the PF should be disregarded as it is false.
Mr Kabwe said the Rainbow Party and the PF have only signed a memorandum of understanding to enable the party support adopted candidates from the PF.
“We know the political parties spreading those rumors, as they feed from talking bad about the Rainbow Party, Mr Kabimba is still our President but only endorsing the PF because we decided not to field any of our candidates in this year’s elections,” he said.
Mr Kabwe said that the decision was made in April were all the party members and provincial committees agreed with the MoU.
Mr Kabwe was reacting to some reports that surfaced earlier today that Mr Kabimba had rejoined the Patriotic Front.
