Kenya striker Jesse Were is itching to score more goals after achieving the 100 goals milestone in all competitions at FAZ Super Division giants Zesco United.
Were joined Zesco in 2016 from Kenyan side Tusker.
He has gone on to make his name not only at Zesco but in FAZ Super Division.
Were’s 100th goal arrived on Sunday when scoring a hat-trick in Zesco’s 4-0 league win over Kitwe United at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
In an interview with journalists, the tall striker said hard work and team effort helped him to achieve the 100 goals milestone.
“Getting this milestone of century goals for the club, it just makes me happy and it motivates me,” Were said.
“When you leave home you usually go searching and thank God the searching has become great and I have managed to score 100 goals for the team and I will keep on working hard,” he said.
Were added: “Yes it gives me a lot of appetite and also it motivates me because it is not easy , behind the scenes we pass through a lot of hard work and coming to showcase on the pitch it makes me feel happy and at ease.”
Were has scored five goals in the current league season and hints he wants to double his tally in the last four matches.
