RUBiS Energy Zambia has launched its operations on the Copperbelt after successfully acquiring Kobil and Samfuel Service Stations.
On Wednesday, RUBiS officially launched their operations in Zambia with Lusaka being their starting point.
Company managing director Vincent Fleury said despite being affected by COVID19 pandemic, RUBiS believes in the potential of the Zambian economy to bounce back stronger.
Mr Fleury disclosed that Kobil and Samfuel will now be known as RUBiS Energy Zambia as the company rebrands all outlets across the country.
“Following the successful acquisition of Kobil and Samfuel, we intent to expand our footprints and invest heavily in the country,” he said.
Mr Fleury said Zambians will access quality petroleum products as the company plans to expand country wide.
He said the company has 40 service stations in the country and will fuel the Zambian economy.
“Despite the COVID19 pandemic we believe the potential of the Zambian economy to bounce back stronger amidst gradually.
“We chose to introduce fresh RUBiS Energy at this time to fuel the Zambian economy. For us this is emerging new frontiers and creating new opportunities for Zambians to succeed,” Mr Fleury said.
RUBiS chief executive officer Jean-Christian Bergeron said the company is innovating concepts to satisfy customer needs with convenient stores, quick service restaurants, ATMs among others to feel at home while at RUBiS.
“The company is not only rebranding but also upgrading its service stations countrywide,” he said.
And Copperbelt Permanent Secretary Bright Nundwe, who officially opened the Ndola Service Station in Ndola, said that it is commendable that the company will create job opportunities for the local people hence fuelling their personal growth and that of the economy.
Mr Nundwe said investors in the country are guaranteed of protection because Zambia is a peaceful country.
He said RUBiS is changing the landscape of the Copperbelt in terms of investments.
“The energy sector is a very critical one that we ought not to take lightly hence Government had invested heavily in the energy sector across the country and for you to come on board and support Government’s effort is a huge milestone and we want you to spread your tentacles across this country,” he said.
Mr Nundwe also urged the workers to be hardworking and professional.
