The Civil Society Constitution Agenda (CiSCA) calls for the retraction of the PF Lusaka Province Chairperson Kennedy Kamba’s threats on State Counsel John Sangwa.
This is on account of Mr Sangwa’s petition on the eligibility of President Lungu’s candidature on behalf of the Legal Resources Foundation.
CiSCA Chairperson Judith Mulenga said Mr Kamba’s instructions to his cadres were clearly sent on Mr Sangwa to deal with him violently.
Ms Mulenga said Kamba’s declaration that, ‘We shall no longer entertain his nonsense,” is a threat on the security of Mr Sangwa and a contravention of the Constitution.
She said the fact that Kamba does not understand the avenue that State Counsel Sangwa is using does not make it wrong or unlawful.
“Kamba should realize that he and Sangwa are not even playing the same game. Mr, Sangwa is playing the legal game whereas he is playing a low brand of political hooliganism and the two cannot mix. John Sangwa is a lawyer who has chosen to defend our Constitution as provided for in Article 2,”he said.
Ms Mulenga said it’s not the first time Kamba is publicly threatening violence to other Zambians, CiSCA recalls how Kamba threatened to put GBM and HH in wheelchairs if they showed up at a rally they had wanted to conduct.
She has urged Kamba, that instead of threatening violence, to disseminate the PF Manifesto, he should read through all the 81 pages of the PF Manifesto, and on the preamble page number vi bullet numbers 4, 6, and 7 which states that the PF commits to zero tolerance for corruption, tribalism and violence.
