Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi says beating Napsa Stars in a battle for survival is a relief to the team and will continue moving at a snail’s pace as they they aim to avoid the drop.
The Kitwe giants on Wednesday came from behind to humiliate Napsa 4-1 at Nkana Stadium to move to 31 points and one place up on the log.
Napsa took the lead on 14 minutes through in-form striker Jimmy Mukeya but the home side rallied through Duke Abuya on 37 minutes before Diamond Chikwekwe, Gilroy Chimwemwe and Alex Ng’onga added a goal each in the second half to ensure Nkana returned to winning ways.
Chambeshi said in a post-match interview that he was happy to see his team bag maximum points against fellow relegation fighters.
“I am happy for this win and my technical staff and the whole team is happy because it was not easy playing Napsa Stars .Both teams we are fighting for survival.It is a good win for us beating a team which is competing with us at the bottom so I am happy for the win it is a relief the team and my players and the technical staff,” Chambeshi said.
He said Nkana will take each game as it comes and insists the team is aiming high.
“This team will borrow a tortoise’ pace and the team which is going to sleep along the way will jump them and for sure we are trying our level best to move slowly see how we are going to on the table but for sure we are aiming high,” he said.
Nkana are 16 th on the log and need to win about five of their remaining matches to boost their chances of surviving relegation.
