Three parliamentary candidates successfully filed in their nomination papers to contest the Chifubu Constituency.
Patriotic Front’ (PF) Kondwani Winga popularly known as Major was a last minute replacement for Dorothy Nachilongo, who was initially adopted by the PF central committee before she was dropped on Saturday for Winga.
Immediate past area Member of Parliament Frank Ng’ambi did not apply for adoption.
Nachilongo has since cried foul after she was dropped at death by the Party.
Others that filed in their nomination papers are Lloyd Lubosha of United Party for National Development (UPND) and Robert Muwowo of United National Independent Party (UNIP).
Mr Lubosha the proprietor of Five Stars Investment also stood last time.
Mr Winga was first to file his nominations which were characterized by a peaceful environment at Chifubu Secondary School.
After pushing in his papers Mr Winga thanked President Edgar Lungu for giving him an opportunity to represent the people of Chifubu.
“The process has gone on smooth and I am happy that I have filled in my nomination. I want to thank the head of state and the party for the confidence they have bestored in me,” he said.
Mr Winga said once voted for, he will deliver beyond people’s expectations.
The second to file in was Mr Lubosha who said voting out the PF Government will improve the well-being of the people in the constituency.
“We conducted our nomination in a very peaceful and partial environment. People have been crying for the past five years that they needed their wellbeing to be improved. God has presented this platform for them to change their lives by voting out PF and usher in the UPND,” he said.
The UNIP candidate was the last one to file in his nomination slightly after 17:00 hours and said he will focus on completing unfinished roads in the constituency.
Meanwhile, Returning Officer…turned away candidates for Socialist Party and People’s Alliance for Change for late coming.
