Venture in animal farming, Veep tells women

Vice president Inonge Wina has encouraged women to invest in livestock production and agriculture as land for livestock production is ever growing.

Mr Wina said it is time to remove traditional norms that men are the only ones expected to own cattle and ranches.

Speaking when she officiated at the launch of Africa Women in Animal Resources and Agri Business Zambian Chapter in Lusaka yesterday, Mrs Wina said it is time for Zambian women to venture in cattle farming.

“It is time that Zambian women became owners of ranches, aimed for the top and started producing meat countrywide,” she said.

Mrs Wina encouraged women in the animal resources business to that led and work with men by investing in fisheries and livestock so that the corporation can grow big

And Africa Women in Animal Resources and Agri Business Zambian Chapter chairperson Annie Kabayi said that the continent through the organization will birth a lot of wealthy women in the next few years.

“We shall facilitate access to finance, acquisition of animals and mobilization of women cooperatives, and groups,” she said
