MP Kalobo aids Nkana Queens

By Mercy Chewe
Kitwe’s Wusakile Member of Parliament Pavyuma Kalobo has donated assorted football equipment to FAZ National Women’s League side Nkana Queens.

Kalobo has handed over jerseys, football nets, boots and balls to Nkana Queens during a ceremony at Nkana Stadium in Wusakile.

In his remarks, Kalobo reminded players to be disciplined and further pledged his commitment to supporting football at the grassroots.

“This is not the first time I am supporting football teams. Currently I am fully sponsoring Nkandela FC and I will continue supporting these small teams,” Kalobo said.

“I want you girls to take football seriously. Be disciplined if you are to go far in your career, without discipline you won’t go anywhere,” Kalobo told the players.

Team Manager Christopher Mwewa thanked Kalobo for the donation.

“We want more people and companies to come and support us. It is not easy to run a football team,” Mwewa said.

The Nkana Queens are this year competing in the inaugural National Women’s Football League.
