Elections shouldn’t divide us-Copperbelt PF Youth Boss

Copperbelt Patriotic Front (PF) Youth Chairperson Nathan Bwalya has told PF youth wing in Chingola to remain united and resolute.

Mr Bwalya who is popularly referred to as Nathan Chanda said intraparty elections can divide the party if not handled well leaving some members feel disheartened.

Speaking in Chingola yesterday when the PF Provincial youth wing visited the Chingola party structures to prepare the grassroots mentally of what happens after elections, Mr Bwalya said members must be ready to mend and move on after the polls.

He said PF on the Copperbelt is known to be united and heal quickly after intraparty elections.

“We need to heed the President’s call to be peaceful and not allow politicians to use us as youths as tools of violence. Our President of the Party who is also Republican President Edgar Lungu is promoting the motto of ‘One Zambia, One Nation. Let us realize we are a one united nation that is seeking to develop.

“The elections should make us more united than dividing us. Democracy demands accepting results and moving on than pointing fingers,” said Mr Bwalya who is also Luanshya Mayor.

PF on the Copperbelt will have Section elections between September 8 and 21, Branch polls between September 22 and October 5, Ward elections between October 6 and 19.

Constituencies’ polls will be between October 20 and November 2 while District election will be between November 3 and 8 this year.
